Chanegriha: Algeria thwarted malicious strategies targeting the Algerian state – the dialogue

Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, confirmed that it managed to thwart the malicious strategies that targeted the state entity through the scourge of extremism intruding on Algerian society.

During the inauguration, today, Saturday, of an international forum on: “The geopolitics of extremism: starting points, threats, challenges, and confrontation mechanisms” at the National Army Club in Beni Messous, Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha said, “Extremism is a historical phenomenon characterized by mutation and complexity, as it takes various expressive forms, and is based on Different intellectual and ideological starting points, according to time and place, but they share some starting points based on the misconception of owning the truth, rejecting and rejecting the other, and adopting expressive behaviors through discourse or actions based on hatred, and even on violence that may reach the level of terrorism. In the context, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army affirmed that Algeria was able to thwart the malicious strategies that targeted the state entity through this extraneous scourge – terrorism – on Algerian society,” praising in the same context the contribution of Algerian diplomacy to promoting international awareness of the criminal nature of terrorism. He said, “The phenomenon of extremism is not linked to one religion over another, or to a society over another, or even to an ideology alone, and the wrong or functional exploitation of ideas and convictions establishes pathways that threaten identity, thought, and even the stability of states.”

Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha said, “Yes, Algeria, with its citizens, its People’s National Army and its institutions, has triumphed over terrorism alone, and has been able to develop a unique experience in combating and preventing this scourge, whether at the operational level, or by developing an integrated and multidimensional national approach.” He added that national diplomacy contributed to enhancing international awareness of the criminal nature of terrorism, through a number of regional and regional agreements and initiatives, as well as international resolutions, supporting joint efforts in the field of combating terrorism, and drying up its funding sources in order to prevent the threat from exacerbating and spreading.
