Prime Minister: Our goal is to reach one million project holders next year

Prime Minister Ayman Ben Abdel Rahman said today, Monday, that Algeria has reached advanced stages within the framework of the strategy set by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to develop emerging enterprises, and it aspires to reach one million project holders next year.

The Prime Minister said, during his inauguration of an exhibition for startups, on the sidelines of the works of the first African conference for start-ups, which opened today under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, that “this progress has been made thanks to the initiative of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who was the founder of the startup ecosystem.” In Algeria, he established, with the first government (since he assumed the presidency of the country), a ministry in charge of emerging enterprises.

While listening to the various offers and concerns of the managers of these companies, Mr. Ben Abdel Rahman, who was accompanied by the Minister of Knowledge Economy and Emerging and Small Enterprises, Yassin El Mahdi Walid, and the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning, Ibrahim Mourad, called on the Algerian youth to gather more around this strategy. .

The Prime Minister ordered the acceleration of the study of files at the level of the Algerian Fund for Financing Emerging Enterprises, with the aim of enabling them to obtain the necessary financing sources.

He continued that the portfolio of managing state investment funds, estimated at 58 billion dinars, at a rate of one billion dinars for each state, will allow the fund to be further strengthened in financing the largest possible number of startups.

And he pointed out the need to shift from purely administrative management to economic management, saying: “It is necessary to proceed with economic and financial approaches in the management of emerging institutions.”

He stressed the importance of training to enable young people to obtain the necessary experience and motivate them to launch their projects, stressing the state’s determination to provide all necessary support to emerging national institutions.

He called on these institutions to raise the challenge of producing electronic chips for biometric identification documents locally and to expand service projects that promote tourism, especially in the south.

It is noteworthy that the exhibition witnessed the participation of 20 institutions, including 12 from African countries within the incubator “incub me” and 8 Algerian institutions, interested in the fields of electronic commerce, industries, technology, finance, transportation, services and education.
