The results of the investigations of the Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office revealed that 15 European deputies were involved in a bribery scandal with the Moroccan intelligence, as some of them admitted that they were a party to an organization funded by the intelligence in Rabat.

The Italian newspaper La Repubblica obtained documents related to the suspicious practices of some deputies in the European Parliament, which is based in Brussels. According to this newspaper, Antonio Panzeri, Andrea Cozzolino and his assistant Francesco Giorgi were in contact with Moroccan intelligence through the General Directorate for Studies and Documentation headed by Yassin Mansour, as well as the Moroccan ambassador to Morocco. Poland, in addition to two Moroccan intelligence agents, without specifying their nationalities. The newspaper notes that “Morocco is the most active in the search for influence on the European Parliament through meetings, interviews and dinners held by senior intelligence officials in Rabat with European representatives.”
