Today, Friday, the 36th edition of the international economic Asehar event opened in Tamanrasset.
The official launch ceremony for this economic event took place under the supervision of the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rizik, accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Yassine Hammadi, and local authorities, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Trade of the State of Niger, and members of the diplomatic corps of the countries of Mali, Niger, Chad, Mauritania and Bukinfaso.
The opening ceremony of these events was marked by the presentation of a package of local folklore and cultural performances at the entrance to the event’s organizing site, which was in a joyful festive atmosphere and in perfect harmony amidst a desert décor decorated with traditional leather tents. Commercial exhibitors and economic operators representing public and private companies from Algeria and neighboring countries participate in this version of ASIHAR Tamanrasset, who display a variety of products from food and processing industries, textiles, utensils, household electrical equipment, building materials, and others.
A pavilion was also allocated to display the various products of the traditional industries of a number of neighboring countries.
This event is of great importance to Algeria and neighboring African countries, and it also embodies the state’s strategy with regard to advancing the pace of the economy within the efforts made to enhance the country’s economic position and diversify its income, as was explained.
It constitutes an opportunity to strengthen the economic position of Algeria in Africa, including the Sahel countries, and to contribute to the entry of Algerian products into the African market, and to make the province of Tamanrasset a commercial pole with distinction, while giving dynamism to the commercial movement in the region.
And by the way, the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rizik, confirmed in his opening speech that Assihar Tamanrasset is distinguished in this edition by the diversity of economic and cultural activities programmed to revive the region and promote its components. This event is witnessing a strong presence of dealers from the Sahel countries to hold the first meeting of businessmen “Algeria – Sahel Countries” under the slogan “Development of Intra-Trade”.
The commercial part of ASIHAR is represented, as the minister added, in a trade fair dedicated to selling products of wide consumption, with the participation of more than 100 national exhibitors, including 40 artisans, and with the participation of 70 exhibitors from African countries.
This international economic date is also an opportunity to promote partnership opportunities between Algeria and to discuss ways to establish economic and commercial cooperation relations between Algerian dealers and their counterparts from African countries, especially with regard to marketing national products to African markets as part of Algeria’s efforts to win the bet on promoting foreign trade.
The 36th edition of Asehar Tamanrasset (December 23, 2022-January 6, 2023) will be an opportunity for visitors to get acquainted with the various types of products offered by public and private participating institutions, in the presence of Algerian economic operators and their counterparts from neighboring countries.
