The International Federation of Pharmaceuticals praises the Algerian pharmaceutical industries

The Vice-President of the International Federation of Pharmaceuticals, Dr. and expert, Hayag Prosper, praised today, Friday in Algiers, that the Algerian pharmaceutical industry has reached a rate of more than 70 percent in covering national needs, thanks to the quality of training provided by universities, especially in the field of pharmacy.

Hayag, who represents the countries of the African continent in the International Federation of Pharmaceuticals, on the occasion of the sixth meeting of the Algerian Federation of Pharmacists, held between December 21 and 23, called on all countries in the region to “unify educational programs in universities and raise the challenge to ensure continental independence to provide quality medicines” by taking Algeria as a “model to guarantee National health coverage” in the pharmaceutical industry.

For his part, the President of the Algerian Federation of Pharmacists, Professor Abdel Hakim Boudis, highlighted that the sixth edition of the Federation Forum highlighted the improvement of training in the African continent in cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy of the French city of Bordeaux, which has a partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Algiers, in order to benefit from the experience of developed countries and to upgrade the Pharmacy Division as a link “Important” in the health system chain.

The same expert in pharmacy also pointed out during this scientific meeting, which came under the slogan “Pharmacy is at the heart of innovation,” on the role of the pharmacist in therapeutic education and the impact of precision medicine and digitization in the production of medicines.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Algiers, Professor Reda Cicek, mentioned the role played by the pharmacist during the various health crises, especially the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced the Algerian university to continue teaching remotely. This method, he added, was very well received by students and professors. To avoid a white year.

In his turn, the head of the pharmacy department at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tizi Ouzou appreciated the new procedures set by the public authorities that stimulate the creation of emerging institutions, stressing the need for the university to accompany the new graduates wishing to do this process through the bridges that were established between it and the national institutions to develop the national economy.

As for Professor Kamal Mansouri, an expert in the pharmaceutical industry, he referred to the Algerian University’s endeavor to modernize educational programs in the future, especially in the field of pharmacy, to face various health crises.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the French University of Bordeaux, Professor Nicolas Sevigny, appreciated the level reached by the Pharmacy Division in Algeria, stressing the need for cooperation between countries in this field in the future so that “the world does not fall into the same crisis that it went through due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic,” as well as confronting Health emergency.

Professor Papa Madiye Gaye, a specialist in pharmacy at the University of Dakar (Senegal), called for exchanging experiences and strengthening cooperation among African universities in order to raise the level of education and develop the pharmaceutical industry in the future.
