Yesterday, Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Ayman bin Abdel Rahman, chaired a government meeting devoted to studying several points related to the fields of investment, culture, preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, and irrigation, according to what was stated in a statement of the interests of the Prime Minister, the following is its full text:
“The Prime Minister, Mr. Ayman bin Abdelrahman, chaired this Wednesday, January 11, 2023, a meeting of the government, which was held at the government palace.
During its weekly meeting, the government examined the following points:
In the field of investment: The government has studied a preliminary draft law that defines the conditions and modalities for granting economic real estate belonging to the private property of the state and directed to the realization of investment projects.
It should be noted that the preliminary draft of this law, which falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic related to improving the investment climate, includes new mechanisms and provisions that would remove the investment act from the administrative department, establish facilities and add more transparency and effectiveness in processing files related to access to real estate destined for investment. , while ensuring the follow-up and accompaniment of investors who will benefit from a more incentive framework.
In the field of culture: The government has studied a preliminary draft law related to the cinematographic industry, which falls within the framework of the President of the Republic’s directives related to reviewing the legislative and regulatory apparatus that frames the cinema sector, with the aim of promoting the cinematographic industry and creating a real economic dynamism in this field.
It should be noted that this draft text, which was prepared based on the results of extensive consultations launched by the Ministry of Culture and Arts with professionals, artists and experts in this field, aims to establish a legislative framework for the various fields of cinematography, in order to establish rules and mechanisms that respond to the aspirations of professionals and are in line with the approach the country’s new economy.
As for the preparations for the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH / 2023 AD: The government listened to a joint presentation by the lady and gentlemen of the ministers in charge of religious affairs, culture and communication, on the program of religious, cultural and media activities on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In this regard, a rich and varied program has been prepared in coordination with the various sectors and ministerial departments concerned, including religious, scientific, cultural, educational and solidarity activities.
The actions outlined within the framework of this program will be carried out at the level of the entire national territory, as well as towards our national community residing abroad, especially through the various national and local television and radio channels, as well as through social networking sites.
Finally, in the field of irrigation: the Minister of Public Works, Irrigation and Basic Facilities gave a presentation on the extent of implementing the emergency program to secure the supply of drinking water to the population.
In this context, and in view of the current climatic situation, which is characterized by a deficit in precipitation, urgent measures were taken by reactivating the emergency plan adopted during the past two years 2021 and 2022, in order to ensure that the population is provided with drinking water, on a regular basis, during the current year.
These measures also fall within the framework of implementing the action plan aimed at ensuring water security in the short and medium term.
