Today, Thursday, the Minister of National Education visited Professor Rehana Ben Sheyeh, at Batna University Hospital, to reassure her about the situation and her health, after the stabbing she was subjected to yesterday morning, Wednesday.
Belhabed said, “The professor was subjected to a heinous attack, and the professor’s current situation calls for optimism.” Belhabed indicated that “what happened to Professor Benchieh is an accident that cannot be measured.”
The minister spoke of “opening an investigation to determine everyone’s responsibilities for this incident, and everyone bears his responsibility.”
The first official in charge of the sector confirmed that “after the results of the investigation appear, we will not tolerate the application of the law strictly, and the school is innocent of these behaviors, and the Algerian state is watching over the sanctity of the school.”
He made it clear that the ministry will not be negligent in taking the necessary measures against anyone and whoever has responsibility, even a small one, in this incident, and everyone who has committed such actions will bear responsibility before the law.
The Minister ordered to provide the necessary facilities for Professor Rehana, who is a candidate for the promotion exam, and to provide an examination center in the hospital if necessary.
