The Minister of the Interior, Local assemblies and Urban Development, Ibrahim Mourad, gave today, Thursday in Beni Abbes, the start of the works of completing a mini-activity area in the capital of the Wilaya of Beni Abbes, at a financial cost of 220 million DZD, provided that it is expected to be received early next April, according to the technical card of the project.
The Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning, upon his inspection of a power plant in the capital of the state of Beni Abbas, renewed the highlighting of the state’s direction in the field of investments and the development of electric power production facilities.
When he inspected the works of a project to complete a power generation station within the framework of his working visit to this young state, he indicated, “The state’s direction in the field of investments and efforts it is making to support and develop electricity production facilities across the various regions of the country, especially in the south of the country.”
This energy project is being embodied in the state capital by four implementation institutions affiliated with the Sonelgaz complex branches, as it will be equipped with eight (8) mobile gas turbines with a capacity of 20 megawatts each, equivalent to a production capacity of up to 160 megawatts, according to the technical card of the project.
This added energy capacity, which will be pumped into the electricity distribution network in this state, will allow it to respond to the needs of residents and other interests in the region, especially during peak periods of electricity consumption during summer periods, as explained by state energy sector officials.
This station extends over an area of 12 hectares, and it is expected that the first gas turbine will be put into service during next March, as was explained.
It is expected that this energy facility for the production of electricity, which is currently recording progress in works by 65 percent, will provide many new permanent and indirect jobs, and will be linked in the future to the network of the state of Bashar, according to the same source.
This energy project falls within the framework of the development program of the Sonelgaz public complex, which required an investment of more than 6 billion DZD, as mentioned by the technical executives of the complex.
The Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning concluded his visit by holding a meeting with civil society representatives in the Wilayat of Bani Abbas.
