The Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zagdar, revealed today, Thursday in Boumerdes, that the operations of preparing and connecting the industrial hangar in Al-Arbatash with various networks, in the west of the wilaya, will be completed “soon.”
The minister said in a press statement, on the sidelines of an inspection visit in the state, that the operations of preparing and linking the industrial hangar to Al-Arbatash “have almost completely finished, leaving only about 1 percent of the works that the concerned parties committed to complete after the weather fluctuations that the country is currently experiencing passed through.”
He pointed out that putting into service this vital industrial zone of Boumerdes and neighboring states “is part of the implementation of the President of the Republic’s program aimed at making the year 2023 an economic year par excellence by embodying the programmed investments in various fields.”
By the way, the minister sent a message to the investors in this region, in which he called on them to “expedite the realization of their investments in the field” and “win the bet of the challenge that aims to create 25,500 jobs” in the Arbatash area.
The minister warned the “reluctant” to materialize their projects against “recovering the real estate from which they benefited,” noting that to date, 2308 hectares of industrial real estate have been recovered across the country from investors who failed to complete their industrial projects.
He also revealed, by the way, that his ministerial department is currently preparing, along with the Ministry of Finance, to “make 2023 the year of embodying investment projects in accordance with the new legal system that is in the process of preparing in order to achieve greater transparency in the field of industrial real estate distribution by linking it to the investment law.”
In order to achieve the required transparency in the field of industrial real estate distribution, the minister explained that the list of beneficiaries in this field will be published on the digital platform of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion or the single window directed to facilitate all investment operations across the country.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the Arbatash region is among six industrial zones across the country that his ministerial department was tasked with following up on its completion. He received from them, at the end of 2022, the Beni Tamou region in the wilaya of Tlemcen and the Luxor region in the wilaya of Bejaia.
Al-Arbatash area covers an area of 137 hectares and was divided into 4 industrial branches and 258 real estate shares, of which 204 shares of real estate have been distributed to date. Preparations are being made to start the completion of 145 projects to date, of which 31 projects have actually started in the completion operations.
