Today, Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Ayman bin Abdul Rahman, chaired a government meeting at Dr. Saadan’s palace in the capital.
According to a statement of interests of the prime minister, the meeting was devoted to the agricultural and rural development sector.
In this context, the government studied during its weekly meeting the following points:
Preliminary draft law related to forests and forest resources:
The government studied, in a first reading, a preliminary draft law related to forests and forest resources, which was submitted by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
This draft text aims to revitalize the legislative system for the management of the country’s forest property in anticipation of a better valuation of forest resources at the economic, social and environmental levels.
As for its provisions, it stipulates in particular more principles centered on:
management of forest property, which falls within Algeria’s obligations in the field of protecting environmental diversity, adapting to climate change and combating desertification;
The economic management of the forest heritage, which is based on the renewal of its productivity and the tools for its framing
Protecting and preserving the national forest potential and expanding the forest cover.
A draft executive decree that includes the allocation of a plot of land belonging to the National Forest in the Green Dam, for the benefit of a punitive institution in the form of an open environment:
In addition, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development presented a draft executive decree that includes the allocation of a plot of land belonging to the forest of national property in the Green Dam, for the benefit of a penal institution, to be exploited in the form of an open environment, allowing the promotion and modernization of the public service of the justice sector.
The results of the agricultural wealth census process:
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development gave a presentation on the census of agricultural investments and grain production, agricultural real estate, national livestock census and milk production.
This assessment falls within the framework of the periodic follow-up of data on the agricultural people’s situation and the review of economic and social indicators related to the regular supply of the market. In this regard, the preliminary results of the various operations of counting our agricultural wealth were reviewed, as well as the extent of implementation of the decisions taken in the field of improving the performance of the agricultural divisions, grain cultivation, livestock breeding, and the milk division.
It is worth noting that this periodic study would allow responding to the concerns of promoting modern agriculture based on raising the level of production and productivity of the agricultural people, with the aim of strengthening the foundations of food security.
