Razik clarifies the prohibition of private individuals from importing dry legumes – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The Minister of Trade, Kamal Rezik, confirmed that the exclusive import of dry legumes for industrialists will be for the Algerian National Grain Professional Office, a measure aimed at preserving the purchasing power of the citizen.

The Minister of Trade said, today, Monday, during his hosting on public television, that the implementation of this decision comes in coordination between the industrialists and the Algerian National Professional Office for Cereals, with the aim of preserving the purchasing power of the citizen and encouraging the national product. The minister added that this decision was taken by the authorities last year to be implemented in two parts, according to the government’s methodology. The first part related to the exclusivity of importing these legumes was applied by the Diwan in relation to what is known as buying in order to sell, adding that the first responsible for the sector is the wholesalers. Or retailers, they can go to the Diwan in order to buy these commodities and resell them.

And the Ministry of Commerce had issued an instruction stipulating that all private dealers be prevented from importing legumes and rice, and making the task exclusive to the Algerian professional office for grains. According to the instruction directed by the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions to the banks on February 9, related to preventing private individuals from importing legumes – dry grains and rice, according to the dispatch of the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion, the import of dry grains and rice has become exclusive to the Algerian Professional Grain Office, and private importers are prohibited from importing These materials are either for resale or other use, and the directive calls on bank managers to take the necessary measures to implement this decision.
