Belmehdi: The Algerian International Award for the Holy Quran reflects the adherence of generations of the Algerian and Islamic nation to the Islamic religion
The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmehdi, affirmed that the Algerian International Award for Preserving the Noble Qur’an and Reviving the Islamic Heritage reflects the adherence of generations of the Algerian and Islamic nation to the true Islamic religion, appreciating the care of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for scholars and memorizers of the Book of God.
In a speech during the closing ceremony of the Algerian International Award for Preserving the Noble Qur’an and Reviving the Islamic Heritage in its 18th edition, the minister said that this religious forum “reflects the adherence of generations of the Algerian and Islamic nation to the true Islamic religion.”
He pointed out that such competitions are a response to attempts to harm the true Islamic religion, such as burning the Holy Qur’an and other acts that are intended to distort Islam.
Belmehdi did not miss the occasion, to praise President Tebboune’s sponsorship of scholars and memorizers of the Book of God, and he also noted Algeria’s positions in support of just causes in the world, led by the Palestinian cause.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the conclusion of this spiritual competition coincided with the commemoration of Isra and Mi’raj as well as the National Martyr’s Day tomorrow, Saturday, recalling the sacrifices of the martyrs in order to restore national sovereignty.
