Outcome… The arrest of 8 elements of support for terrorist groups and the seizure of quantities of Moroccan kif – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

In the context of the continuous efforts exerted in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 15 to 21 February 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory. .
Within the framework of counter-terrorism operations, joint detachments of People’s National Army arrested (08) elements supporting terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while (01) a homemade bomb was discovered and destroyed during a search and combing patrol in Boumerdes.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and as a continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped during operations across the military regions, (81) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to bring in quantities of drugs across the border with Morocco, It is estimated at (07) quintals and (41) kilograms of treated kif, while (299072) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tindouf and Djanet, detachments of People’s National Army stopped (210) people and seized (42) vehicles, (315) electric generators, (50) hammers and (15.5) quintals of a mixture of gold ore and stones, in addition to Quantities of explosives, detonating equipment and other equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations were seized, while (42) other persons were arrested and (01) semi-automatic rifle, (12) hunting rifles, (06) automatic pistols and (44) quintals were seized. of tobacco, (16371) units of various beverages, and huge amounts of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, estimated at (79) tons, through separate operations across the national territory. Border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel estimated at (44,455) liters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El Tarf and Tebessa.
On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (97) people who were on traditionally made boats, while (658) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
