The Prime Minister, Ayman bin Abdelrahman, chaired today, Wednesday, at the Government Palace, a government meeting devoted to studying files related to the sectors of agriculture, energy, health, postal, trade and communication.
On this occasion, members of the government studied a draft executive decree, presented by the Minister of Health, which includes the establishment of five hospital institutions specialized in medical and surgical emergencies at the level of the wilayas of Batna, Algiers, Annaba, Mascara and Oran, and (01) hospital institution specialized in combating cancer in the wilaya of Tlemcen. .
The completion of these structures falls within the framework of implementing the program of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the government’s action plan, the health sector development plan and the national health policy, which pays great attention to medical and surgical emergencies, given that its priority tasks are crucial to the patient’s health and care for people with cancer.
The establishment of these health structures would facilitate patients’ access to health treatments and services, improve the course of patient treatment, and reduce patient referrals among public health institutions.
Studying the process of establishing the first free trade zones
On the other hand, the government listened to a presentation by the Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion on commercial free zones. In this context, the results of the perception that was launched regarding the practical method related to the establishment, in a first stage, of five (05) commercial free zones in the medium and long term, in accordance with the new provisions of Law No. 22-15 that defines the rules regulating free zones.
In this regard, the government has studied, in particular, the areas to be established according to the order of priority on the basis of economic criteria that take into account the nature of each free zone, the specifics of each space proposed for its establishment, the financing method to be adopted, the state’s contribution in the field of preparing public utility networks and the completion of basic facilities, as well as the book of conditions. Which determines the modalities for the management and exploitation of free zones.
This presentation made it possible to draw up a roadmap aimed at creating a real ecosystem that encourages the emergence of free zones capable of stimulating a dynamism in the field of wealth creation and job positions.
A media city for a professional environment based on international standards and norms
In the field of media and communication, the Minister of Communication and the Minister of Housing, Urbanization and the City made a presentation on the project to implement a media city DZAIR Media CITY.
This important project aims to upgrade the audiovisual sector in Algeria through the realization of a comprehensive and integrated facility that includes the most important actors and media activities, from studios for public and private television and radio channels, and real-time transmission that guarantees broadcasting through the latest technological platforms with a huge data center based on artificial intelligence.
In addition, the project includes the establishment of a free zone to host the platforms of international dealers of social networks that will use this bridge to deliver their contents to Africa, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
Thus, the DZAIR Media CITY project would provide a professional environment based on international standards and standards and encourage the practice of audiovisual activity through better quality television and radio services capable of contributing to the promotion of Algeria’s image.
Framing paper and guiding two strategies to accelerate the development of postal services and postal finance
The weekly government meeting included a presentation by the Minister of Post and Telecommunications on the role of the Algeria Postal Corporation in supporting the generalization of financial services and electronic payment in Algeria.
In this context, the overall economic indicators related to the activities of Algeria Post were reviewed, as well as the important role played by this public institution in the dissemination of financial services by offering services accessible to all at reasonable prices, especially to the population of rural and remote areas where the presence of banks is less.
In order to accelerate the implementation of the national policy for the development of postal services and postal finance, a paper framing and guiding two strategies for the period 2023-2024 was reviewed and studied.
