The International Organization for the Study of Football Statistics put the first professional league as the second best championship in Africa after the Egyptian championship.
It also ranked 20th in the world, ahead of several major continental championships, such as the Moroccan Championship, which ranked third, and the Tunisian Championship, which ranked eighth.
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) is a parallel organization to “FIFA” and works to create an archive of football statistics, as it was founded on March 27, 1984 in Germany, and FIFA often cites statistics from this federation, which is considered the most important organization credibility in the world of football.
The selection of the Algerian championship comes based on many criteria adopted by this body, including the competition in the championship, the number of clubs that play in continental competitions, in addition to the talents that are exported abroad, which put Algeria in second place, since the clubs of ES Setif, youth Belouizdad and JS Kabylie reached advanced roles last year in continental competitions, not to mention the departure of many players from the national championship towards European and Gulf championships.
