Rizik said: This event will constitute a space for displaying and promoting Algeria’s productive capacities and capabilities in this sector. Presenting practical proposals to value this natural heritage and develop marketing opportunities in international markets, which will contribute to achieving economic development and diversifying sources of income from hard currency.
He said that this economic event, which is an ideal opportunity to introduce and promote these local products, which need greater attention by specialists, researchers and experts to prevent the introduction of any changes that may affect their originality and natural characteristics in light of modernization that affected several agricultural branches.
The organization of this economic event comes in light of the Algerian consumer’s orientation and increasing his awareness towards the demand for natural products free from additives and chemicals that are a source of many diseases and health problems, in addition to the need to value the largest amount of authentic local products and preserve their natural characteristics and Its nutritional characteristics and production conditions, striving towards its protection, providing ways to sustain its characteristics and advantages to raise its added value, supporting this division by all possible means, and providing favorable conditions for its development locally and internationally.
A census of more than 60 authentic agricultural products that can be branded in Algeria
In this regard, more than 60 original brandable agricultural products were counted in Algeria, and a committee was established at the national level with agricultural associations in order to value and label agricultural products in every region of the country, which strives to revive the rural space that has become rich in products A variety of agricultural products produced by the people of each region within a family framework, which allows the creation of job positions and contributes to the creation of wealth.
And if we search for these products in Algeria, we find hundreds of species and varieties of them that have strengthened their position in the national market in recent years, such as the dried figs of Beni Maouche and many non-priced varieties and other rare varieties of figs that are found on the level of some mountains in Batna, Tipaza and Bejaia in addition to To the vineyards and grapes and the production of some cheeses for our country and some types of honey that can be branded and exported.
We also find many herbs and natural and aromatic plants, many of which are authentic, but they are forgotten, such as white wormwood, rosemary, essential oil, and the list is long.
Accordingly, we are working in coordination with the relevant ministerial sectors to control the list of these authentic products that can be branded according to certain conditions and biological and geographical characteristics in order to preserve their specifications, especially since they are 100 percent local products and do not need to import production inputs and raw materials from abroad, nor do No additional costs.
Algeria’s exports of authentic products amounted to 44 million dollars in 11 months

Carob represents the largest exported original product with a value of 31.7 million dollars, followed by molasses (date paste) with 2 million dollars, and truffles with 1 million dollars. And some other products, including: spices at $91,000, natural honey at $2,500.
It should also be noted that this economic event includes a rich program that includes an exhibition of many authentic products such as dairy products, cheese and forest products such as honey, aromatic and medicinal plants, in addition to traditional industries and other diverse products.
These open national doors will also include the organization of a study day through programming interventions by representatives of sectors, bodies and experts specialized in this field, in addition to the actors in this activity, which will inevitably culminate in issuing recommendations and suggestions that will protect this division and preserve this diverse Algerian heritage. Which needs to be known at home and abroad, especially since every region of this country contains several authentic products that differ in terms of ingredients and taste, and accordingly we must value these Algerian products and prepare them to compete in international markets by supporting, organizing and framing them.
