Algeria calls for a global digital pact that protects women’s digital rights – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Bahja Al-Omali, Chairperson of the Committee on Transport, Communication, Energy, Science and Technology, participated today, Thursday, in Mudarend, South Africa, in a plenary session titled “For an Inclusive Digital World: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality” that brought together experts and diplomats from around the world.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Al-Amali recalled, in a speech she delivered to the audience, the pain of women and the bitterness of their reality in many countries that have become hotbeds of conflict due to wars and armed conflicts similar to the suffering of Sahrawi women, African women and Palestinian women.

She also reviewed the achievements of the Algerian women who opposed the French occupation, noting that the Algerian woman answered the call of the revolution and shared the heroic jihad with her male brother, past and present.

Dr. also touched. Al-Amali stressed the importance of protecting the rights of African women, such as their right to technology, digitization and artificial intelligence. The United Nations also called for the enactment of a global digital pact that protects women’s digital rights, in addition to involving women in all digital and technological fields and protecting them from digital violence.
