Lieutenant General Chanegriha receives the Commander of the National Defense Forces of South Africa – Al-Hiwar Algeria

The reception ceremony began with the salutation of the national flag, and the presentation of military ceremonies to the guest by formations of the various forces of the People’s National Army.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, commanders of the forces, heads of departments, central directors from the Staff of People’s National Army and the Ministry of National Defense, and members of the South African military delegation.

During this meeting, the two sides discussed the state of military cooperation between the armies of the two friendly countries and ways to continuously enhance it. They also discussed security challenges known to the world in general and the African continent in particular, and exchanged views on various issues of common concern.

On this occasion, the Lieutenant General delivered the first speech welcoming the South African military official and his accompanying delegation, stressing that this visit embodies the political will of the supreme authorities of the two countries to upgrade bilateral military cooperation to the level of historical relations between the two friendly countries:

“This visit is also evidence of our joint determination to embody the political will of the higher authorities of the two countries, in order to work together to establish diversified cooperation based on exchange and consultation, and in the light of a foresighted and pragmatic endeavor that would elevate this cooperation to the level of historical relations.” between our two countries, and at the level of ambitions emanating from them.

In this context, this cooperation should be included in the framework of a military cooperation protocol, which will be approved by our two armies, and I am sure that your visit, today, will allow setting the parameters of this cooperation, to reach the signing of an agreement in this field between our two institutions.

Mr. Lieutenant General stressed the sincere will of the two parties to unite their efforts to contribute effectively to the establishment of peace and stability, at the level of the African continent:

“I assure you of our sincere will to unify our efforts, in order to reactivate cooperation in line with the aspirations of our two peoples, given that the bilateral relations between the two countries are characterized, more than ever, by the nature of privilege, which is manifested through a common will to contribute effectively to the establishment of peace and stability, at the level of our African continent.

For his part, Lieutenant-General Rodzani Mavuania praised the warm reception and hospitality that he and his accompanying delegation received, stressing the congruence of visions and analyzes regarding current issues at the continental and international levels, and his country’s readiness to work to strengthen the bonds of bilateral military cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, after which the South African National Defense Forces Commander signed the Golden Book of Staff of the People’s National Army.
