Blani receives the head of the European Union Agency for Judicial Cooperation in the Criminal Field, Al-Hiwar Algeria

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ammar Blani, received today, Tuesday, Ladislav Hamran, Head of the European Union Agency for Judicial Cooperation in the Criminal Field.

The visit is in the context of the talks held yesterday, Monday, by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, with Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission.

After recalling the commitments of the President of the Republic related to combating corruption, money laundering and recovering illegally smuggled assets abroad, the Secretary-General stressed the political will of the Algerian authorities to launch close cooperation with the European Union Agency for Judicial Cooperation in the criminal field in order to benefit from its extensive expertise and distinguished experience in the field of Freezing, confiscating and recovering funds and assets transferred abroad through illegal means, as well as strengthening cooperation relations between the judicial authorities in Algeria and the member countries of the European Union.

In turn, Ladislav Hamran expressed his commission’s readiness and commitment to provide all necessary forms of support and technical assistance to the Algerian judicial authorities in the field of investigations and to facilitate communication with their European counterparts in processing files related to the recovery of looted funds and assets from Algeria.
