A new toll of dead and wounded in Khartoum – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces entered their second day, with a new toll of dead and wounded.

The battlefield in Sudan witnessed explosions near the sports city, south of the capital, Khartoum, at dawn today, Sunday, amid conflicting statements by the two parties, and reports of 56 civilian deaths and 600 wounded.

The Sudanese army spokesman denied what he called the rebels’ allegations of the siege of the General Command in Khartoum. He said, “The army controls the headquarters of the Rapid Support Forces in Port Sudan, Kassala, Gedaref, Damazin, Kosti, Kadugli, and Karari, while the Rapid Support Forces said they captured the Naval Forces Tower at the General Command in Khartoum.”

The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors counted the number of dead and injured in hospitals and health facilities as a result of the clashes between the People’s Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which led to a large number of deaths and moderate and critical injuries.

The total number of civilian deaths reached 56, and the total number of injuries reached (595), including military injuries, dozens of whom were in critical condition.

In Khartoum, the death toll reached 25, including 17 civilians and 8 military personnel, while the number of injuries amounted to 302.

As for Bahri, the death toll reached 8 cases, including 7 civilians and 1 military, and 86 injuries, and in Omdurman, the death toll reached 11 cases, including 7 civilians, 4 military, and 42 injuries. In the rest of the regions, the death toll reached 25 civilians and military personnel, and 165 injuries.
