On the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, the Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Soria Moulouji, organized an evening at the Palace of Culture, Moufdi Zakaria, in honor of Algerian artists from various fields and states, in addition to the pioneers of cultural media in Algeria, in the presence of the Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of culture and audio. Al-Basri, Director General of Communication at the Presidency of the Republic, executives from the Ministry and the cultural and artistic family.
The Minister took advantage of this opportunity to remind those present in her speech that the works of those in charge of all the major files in the culture and arts sector have not stopped, foremost of which is the artist’s law, which knows great progress due to participatory initiative and proposal. We all aspire to it, stressing that the involvement of the masses of artists, creators, and intellectuals in the effort to establish a brighter Algerian cultural future has become a national duty par excellence, hand in hand with the company of the political leadership in our country, and we will not deviate from the truth if we say that the intellectual and the artist is concerned with protecting the homelands, the human being, memory and conscience, as they do not deviate from the truth. In light of the rapid developments that societies are witnessing, we are aware of the growth of many evils in our society, foremost of which is the rampant drug threat among our youth. Therefore, the Ministry of Culture calls on all Algerian artists to enlist with the elite creatives of Algerian people in all fields to stand as a stronghold against drug abuse. Or encouragement of that, to protect our youth, whom we consider the national national wealth of Algeria, and that the frenzied attacks targeting Algerian youth are considered a threat to national security, so we must be vigilant and wise in dealing with it.
In this context, “Souria Moulouji” argued for the need to intensify efforts to resist all forms of dissemination of hate speech among the members of the same society, to confront extremism in all its forms, and to strengthen faith in adult citizenship, so that Algeria would have a shield of art people protecting it from indiscriminate attacks on its rich heritage. And with what God has endowed us with from a good land full of spectra of civilizations and the magic of geography, and let Algeria’s talents and artists rise as lofty castles that defend the Algerian cultural identity.
This opportunity allowed the Minister to talk to artists and listen to their concerns, as she assured them that all means of communication are open to them, welcoming all proposals that support the advancement of the cultural field in Algeria. It should also be noted that the same atmosphere was known by the directorates of culture and arts at the level of all states, which organized meetings with the local artistic and media family for the same purpose.
