The Ambassador of the United States of America to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, stressed today, Friday in Oran, the importance of further strengthening cooperation in the field of teaching English in Algerian universities, as well as in the field of economic partnership and investment between the two countries.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the opening of an international conference on the subject of “Teaching English in the 21st Century”, which includes about 1,000 professors, universities and specialists in teaching English from home, Ms. Moore Aubin indicated that teaching English is one of the axes of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Several programs have been put in place, where the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the American Columbia University have established a program on teaching English in Algerian universities, as well as the “Link” program to teach and enhance the knowledge of more than 500 executives, employees, and others, noting that there is currently About 30 bilateral exchange programs in the field of teaching and learning English for different stages from secondary, university and post-graduate levels.
Speaking about bilateral economic cooperation, the US ambassador expressed her hope to see more bilateral cooperation, partnership and investment in all areas of common interest in view of the cooperation opportunities available to the two parties, noting that the air line project between Algeria and New York would “strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.” “.
