The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received today, Tuesday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, Sahnoun Suleiman, Bardia Abdelkader, Madani Mourad, Harizi Makhfi, Hawass Mahfouz, Owaisat Kamal and Kassal Ali, deputies of the National People’s Assembly for the electoral district of the wilaya of Ain Defla, in the presence of frameworks from the Ministry.
These meetings fall within the framework of listening and taking care of some of the issues and concerns raised by the deputies, especially with regard to the energy connection (electricity and gas) of unconnected areas, rural housing and isolated areas, and linking investments and agricultural and industrial areas.
The issue of rehabilitating electrical networks, expanding them and providing them with new electrical transformers was also discussed, in addition to the rehabilitation of some service stations by the Naftal Company.
The issue of mining investment projects in the state was also a matter of concern to the deputies, such as studying the possibility of reviving the iron mine in Miliana and private investment in this field.
At the end of this meeting, the Minister presented clarifications on the overall concerns of the deputies, expressing his consideration of all proposals, studying and addressing them, and taking the necessary measures to meet them. He also stressed the keenness of the sector and its institutions to embody and complete the energy interconnection programs in the state, especially with electrical energy, especially agricultural investments. Where 335 female investors were counted and 200 of them were connected to electricity, and the rest are in the process of being studied and completed. The minister also stressed the sector’s keenness to link industrial investors, as 22 investors will soon be connected to electricity and gas.
For reference, the electricity interconnection rate at the state level reached 98.50%, while the natural gas interconnection rate reached 60%.
