Today, Tuesday, the Algerian Judicial Council upheld a sentence of 12 years in prison against the brother of the former president and his special advisor, Said Bouteflika, for pursuing him with former businessmen on corruption-related charges.
The National Financial and Economic Criminal Pole of the Sidi M’hamed Court had convicted Al-Saeed Bouteflika in this case with the same ruling in the month of February.
The judicial authority upheld the same sentence against Ali Haddad and Ahmed Mazouz, while the sentence of 15 years in prison was upheld against Muhyiddin Tahkout, 10 years against the Koninaf brothers, and 5 years against the Tahkout brothers.
Also in the same case, the ruling issued against former parliamentarian Taher Maysom, known as “Specific” and the former general manager of the National Bank of Algeria, Abboud Achour, was upheld, to two years in prison.
The Algerian Judicial Council also supported the ruling to confiscate all funds and real estate resulting from the proceeds of corruption in the context of this case.
