Bouslimani: The national press should not remain in the reaction zone – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, highlighted the need for the national press to move from the scope of reaction to a proactive one in the face of the massive cyber attacks that Algeria is exposed to.

Today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of a stand of mercy for the souls of the martyrs of the profession on the occasion of the International Day of Freedom of Expression in the Freedom of the Press Square in Algiers, the minister called on the national media to adopt a proactive method in defending Algeria by accompanying and highlighting the national achievements and responding to the attacks targeting the country, and working to highlight Achievements and exporting the true image of Algeria abroad to put an end to the large cyber attacks against Algeria, and not to remain within the scope of reaction.

The Minister of Communication spoke about the legal arsenal allocated to the media sector, which highlights the interest of the public authorities, led by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to develop and promote the press, on top of which is the organic law related to the media, which he said includes “important gains for journalists, especially with regard to work contracts.” Social security and the right to access information. While the draft law on the written press and electronic press and the draft law related to audiovisual activity are expected to be presented to Parliament, as well as the Media City project, which will be the largest achievement in the history of the media sector in Algeria.

On the other hand, the minister indicated that there are 60 accredited foreign media outlets in Algeria that work “with all freedom,” according to him, adding that there are constantly receiving accreditation requests that are studied before being approved.
