And based on the decisions of the Council of the League of Arab States regarding the development of the situation in Syria, the latest of which is Resolution No. 8863 of March 8, 2023 issued by the regular session (159) of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.

Recalling the efforts made by the Arab countries, in particular the efforts made at the “Reunification” Summit in Algeria, and expressing its full solidarity with the Syrian people regarding the challenges they face that affect their security and stability, and the serious violations that threaten their existence and life, innocent citizens, and the unity and integrity of the Syrian territory, and welcoming the efforts made to create appropriate conditions aimed at moving the path of a comprehensive political settlement in Syria, and keenness to activate the Arab leadership role in the efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis to address all its humanitarian, security and political consequences, while developing the necessary mechanisms for this role .

And in the light of the interventions of the heads of delegations, decides:

Renewing the commitment to preserving Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, stability, and territorial integrity, based on the Arab League Charter and its principles, and stressing the importance of continuing and intensifying Arab efforts aimed at helping Syria out of its crisis based on the desire to end the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people that extends over Over the past years, and in line with the common Arab interest and the fraternal relations that unite all Arab peoples, including the Syrian people and their historical contribution to Arab civilization and culture.

Welcoming the Arab statements issued by the Jeddah meeting on Syria on April 14, 2023, and the Amman meeting on Syria on May 1, 2023, and keenness to launch a leading Arab role in efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis that addresses all the humanitarian, security and political consequences of the crisis on Syria and its people. And addressing the repercussions of this crisis on neighboring countries, the region and the world, especially the burden of asylum, the danger of terrorism and the danger of drug smuggling, and welcoming the willingness of the Syrian Arab Republic to cooperate with the Arab countries to implement the outputs of the relevant Arab statements, and the need to implement the commitments and consensus reached in the Amman meeting, as well as Adopting the necessary mechanisms to activate the Arab role.

Emphasizing the need to take practical and effective steps to gradually resolve the crisis, according to the principle of step by step and in line with Security Council Resolution No. 2254, starting with continuing steps that allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to all those in need in Syria, including in accordance with the mechanisms adopted in Security Council resolutions. related to.

Formation of a ministerial liaison committee consisting of “Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt and the Secretary-General,” to follow up on the implementation of the Amman Declaration, and to continue direct dialogue with the Syrian government to reach a comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis that addresses all its consequences, according to the step-by-step methodology, and in a manner consistent with With Security Council Resolution No. 2254, the committee submits periodic reports to the University Council at the ministerial level.

Resume the participation of delegations of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the Council of the League of Arab States, and all its affiliated organizations and agencies, as of May 7, 2023.
