The Arab Parliament condemns the blatant interference of the European Parliament in the internal affairs of Algeria – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Today, Friday, the Arab Parliament expressed its categorical rejection and strong condemnation of the statement issued by the European Parliament on freedom of expression in Algeria.

The Arab Parliament indicated that it is a blatant and unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Algeria, and a continuation of the unacceptable approach of similar statements issued by the European Parliament on human rights in Arab countries.

In a statement today, Friday, the Arab Parliament affirmed its rejection of the lies and misleading information contained in the European Parliament’s statement that are not based on any facts or objective evidence.

He added, “The unacceptable vocabulary and arrogant language included in the statement represents a flagrant violation of the principles of the United Nations and all international norms and laws that affirm the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.”

The Arab Parliament renewed its demand for its European counterpart to immediately and completely stop appointing itself as guardian of the Arab countries, and demanded that it not politicize human rights issues and use them as a pretext to interfere in the internal affairs of the Republic of Algeria, especially in light of the existence of constitutional and judicial institutions capable of providing and implementing all the necessary guarantees for freedom of opinion and protection of human rights. in Algerian society.

The Arab Parliament added, in its statement, that it was the first for the European Parliament to “respect the rules and norms of parliamentary diplomacy, and to communicate directly with the Algerian parliament to clarify facts from reliable sources instead of relying on unfounded suspicious sources, especially since there is already a channel of communication.” Directly between the two sides, which is the joint parliamentary committee between Algeria and the European Union.

The Arab Parliament called on Algeria and other Arab countries not to pay attention to such “suspicious statements” as issued by “a party that has no authority or jurisdiction to assess human rights in Arab countries.”

The Arab Parliament concluded its statement by stressing the need for the European Parliament to rise to the level of responsibility imposed by the common interests and strategic relations that bring together the European Union and the Arab countries, instead of involving itself in issues that offend it as a parliamentary organization, before it harms its relations with the Arab countries.
