On Friday night, the former President of the Constitutional Council, Tayeb Belaiz, passed away at the age of 75. He will be buried today, Saturday, after Asr prayer in Al-Ain Al-Baida cemetery.
Tayeb Belaiz was born in 1948 in Maghnia (province of Tlemcen) and began his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Then he joined the judiciary, in which he was enrolled for more than 25 years, in several positions. Similar to the “President of the Court of Oran, Sidi Bel Abbes, and an advisor to the Supreme Court.”
In 2002, the deceased was assigned the portfolio of the Ministry of Employment and National Solidarity, followed by the Ministry of Justice (in 2003). Then the Ministry of Interior and Local Communities (from 2013 to 2015), after which he was appointed Minister of State, a special advisor to the President of the Republic.
The last position he held was the President of the Constitutional Council from February to April 2019, a position he previously held between 2012 and 2013.
