For the first time with the participation of the United Nations, the Palestinians are preparing to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Nakba – Al-Hiwar Algeria

Tomorrow, Monday, the Palestinians will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, recalling the exodus, displacement, and displacement of hundreds of thousands of them from their cities and villages by the Israeli occupation.

For the first time since 1948, the United Nations decided to commemorate the Nakba of the Palestinian people with an official event, tomorrow, Monday, at the headquarters of the international body in New York City.

According to the mandate given by the United Nations General Assembly, by a resolution issued on November 30, 2022, the 75th anniversary of the Nakba will be commemorated, with two events being organized at the United Nations headquarters.

And the General Assembly voted on a pro-Palestinian resolution to commemorate the Nakba at the United Nations, by 90 votes against 30 opponents, while 47 countries abstained from voting on the initiative.

It is noteworthy that the anniversary of the Nakba is a term that discusses the human tragedy related to the displacement of a large number of the Palestinian people outside their homes during the Israeli-Arab war in 1948, which led to large-scale internal displacement, expulsion and flight of more than 700,000 Palestinians, as well as the destruction of hundreds of Palestinian villages and cities.
