This is what President Tebboune said to the students on their national day – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Today, Thursday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message on the occasion of the National Student Day, in which he highlighted the importance of students and youth as a force in the path of building a new Algeria. This is its full text:

My student daughters.. my student sons,

You celebrate the anniversary of Student’s Day, in which the university and high school students on May 19, 1956 recall the gift of joining the armed struggle, which was escalating and glowing at that time (about two years after the spark of the blessed liberation revolution on the 1st of November 1954).

Male and female students proudly recall this glorious sixty-seventh anniversary (67), and they participate with all Algerian youth from outside the university campuses in the growing awareness of the requirements of the stage inside the country, and the bets of the current international context. We are aware of the size of the efforts exerted to consolidate the state of truth and law, and to establish the rules of governance and transparency. At the various levels of decision-making, and in order to mobilize energies to reach the levels envisaged in the areas of sustainable development, and they are following – at the same time – the strides we have taken to restore Algeria’s position on the external level, without the slightest negligence in its role its pivotal position, and with full care for its deserved position in the regional geopolitical balances and internationally.

You, the students, with the masses of Algerian youth in all fields of collective voluntary activity, and with those affiliated with the national constitutional bodies (the Supreme Council for Youth, and the National Observatory for Civil Society), are the source of the strength of today’s Algeria, which is fortified with Your national awareness and commitment, your creative abilities, and your successes in the fields of acquiring science, And fields of mastery of modern technologies, and with you we are building a new Algeria, whose path is not stopped by voices expressing hostile agendas, working to undermine the stability of our country and to undermine the cohesion and unity of its people, and to enact Proceed to achieve the strategic goals of the nation, and guarantee its higher interests, by relying on the proud Algerian people. And for the aggression and patriotism of our youth, among whom you are the vanguard in university institutions, the makers of the present and the builders of the future.
