The House of Culture “Abdelkader Alloula” of the city of Tlemcen will host, starting next Monday, the Third National Salon of the Artistic Image, in a demonstration that will continue until next Thursday.
This edition, organized by the Center for Arts and Exhibitions in coordination with the National Public Museum of Islamic Antiquities of Tlemcen, will feature the participation of several professional photographers from 11 provinces.
The APS quoted the director of the aforementioned center, Samira Ambouza, as saying that during this exhibition, organized under the slogan “An Algerian lens, antiquities and heritage,” about 50 photographs on heritage, traditional dress, handicrafts, and the Kasbahs of Algeria will be displayed.
It is expected that photo sessions will be organized and a study day entitled “Antiquities and Heritage through an Algerian Lens” that will address the role of the media and photographers active on social media in promoting tourism. It will be organized by professors and researchers from the University of Tlemcen.
Also scheduled is a discussion session that brings together photographers and an art workshop, moderated by artist-photographer Samir Jamma from Algiers.
This event aims to motivate amateurs to photograph, promote and value the Algerian heritage through photographers, and give them the opportunity to document this heritage through their lenses.
