Zitouni: The 54th edition of the Algiers International Fair will witness a qualitative participation of exhibitors and participating countries – Algerian Dialogue

Today, Sunday, Minister of Trade, Tayeb Zitouni, confirmed that the 54th edition of the Algiers International Fair will witness a qualitative participation of exhibitors and participating countries, adding, “With regard to the number of exhibitors, and compared to previous editions, the number of exhibiting institutions has increased from 323 to 473, including 157 public institutions and 316 private ones. “.

In his speech regarding the press symposium he organized on the occasion of the 54th edition of the Algiers International Fair, which will be held from 19 to 24 June of this month, Zitouni explained that the organization of the current edition of the exhibition comes amidst the rapid movement witnessed by the national economy in all fields, with Recording the continuation of the economic recovery, which translates into an increase in the growth rate in our country to 4.2 percent, which is explained by the qualitative jump in non-hydrocarbon exports.

The Minister of Commerce indicated that this year the Italian Republic will be the guest of honor, due to the development and acceleration of the Algerian-Italian relations in terms of the inter-partnership between the two countries, which reflects the historical relationship between Italy and Algeria and presents a very upward trend.

In the context, the Minister of Trade revealed that the volume of commercial transactions between Algeria and Italy amounted to more than 20 billion dollars, as Algeria represents Italy’s first partner in North Africa and the Arab world.

The Minister of Commerce indicated and reported that the number of exhibitors increased during this edition in several areas. The total display area increased by 10 percent compared to previous editions. It amounted to 24 thousand and 390 square meters, of which 23 thousand and 850 square meters were for Algerian exhibitors only. And 1935 square meters for foreigners.

While the Ministry of National Defense will be represented by 16 major complexes that contain many institutions and production units of an industrial nature, such as the mechanical, textile and shipbuilding sectors.
