The number of victims of a gas explosion that occurred on Friday in a building in the city center of Setif has risen to 17.
In a statement, the city protection services stated that the number of injured rose to 17. Their ages range from 25 to 65 years, of whom 03 are in serious condition. All the injured were transferred to Setif University Hospital, according to the same statement.
It is worth noting that the building consists of two ground floors and four upper floors, occupying an area of about 400 square meters.
For its part, the Civil Protection interests harnessed 7 ambulances and 3 trucks, with full crews, for this operation, while the operation is still ongoing, the statement added.
The governor of the province of Setif, Mohamed Amine Dramchi, was transferred to the hospital to check on the health condition of the injured and closely monitored the process of providing health care for them, according to the state statement.
The same official also inspected the accident site and was briefed on the material damage to the garage.
