The Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, announced today, Wednesday, that the number of pilgrims in this year’s Hajj season reached 1,845,045 pilgrims, who came from more than 150 countries.

Al-Rabeeah confirmed, during a press conference, the success of the plan to escalate the pilgrims to Arafat’s shrine, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.

Al-Rabeeah also referred to the follow-up of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and all its partners through field teams, and around the clock, of all services provided to pilgrims, stressing that the Ministry will deal firmly with any failure that affects the pilgrims’ journey and the performance of their rituals.

He explained that employing technology in Hajj work took a large part in providing better services to pilgrims, to facilitate them in performing their rituals, pointing to the expansion this year in the use of the “pilgrim card” within the various digital solutions package.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had confirmed yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, the completion of the escalation and escalation operations to the Arafat shrine, and that the Mina shrine was empty of pilgrims yesterday, noting that the percentage of commitment to the pilgrims exceeded 98 percent, according to the target number of means of transportation.
