The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, received a delegation from the “Stellantis” group, the “Fiat” brand, headed by Samir Cherfan, Director of the Africa and Middle East Region.
According to a statement by the ministry, this comes within the framework of following up on the progress of the car manufacturing project in Algeria for the “Fiat” brand, a subsidiary of the “Stellantis” group in Tafraoui, Oran Province.
According to the same source, the meeting allowed an accurate review of the progress of the car manufacturing unit project in Algeria for the brand “Fiat”, in the state of Oran, before it entered into operation at the end of 2023, in addition to presenting the prospects for the development plan for the complex, especially with regard to investments, handling, training as well as export.
And the same statement stated, “It was noted that there are no obstacles that might hinder the actual implementation of the project, as Aoun renewed the support and accompaniment of the competent departments of the Ministry for this strategic and structural project, calling on “Stellantis-Fiat” to respect all its obligations and accelerate the entry of the car production unit into exploitation in a way that benefits economic development.
