President Tebboune lays the foundation stone for projects and pledges…all states will take their share – Al-Hiwar Algeria

Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, laid the foundation stone for the seawater desalination plant in “Cap Jannat” in the state of Boumerdes, pledging that all states will take their share of this type of project.

And the President of the Republic said, during the first stop of his inspection visit to three states, today, Wednesday, on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the restoration of national sovereignty, that the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou and all wilayas must take their share of the projects for the completion of seawater desalination plants, the station that will give impetus to the agricultural sector in the wilaya of Boumerdes. With a production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day of desalinated water, it is a huge project that will meet the daily needs of more than 3 million citizens with potable water in the various municipalities of Boumerdes Province and even its neighboring regions. This facility, which covers a total area of ​​16 hectares, will contribute to improving the potable water supply capacities of the populations of Boumerdes and Algiers.

The completion of this project falls within the development plan initiated by the President of the Republic, for the period 2022-2024, which includes the completion of five similar stations in the states of Oran, Bejaia, El Tarf, Boumerdes and Tipaza with a capacity of 300 thousand cubic meters per day for each facility. The current project across the national coast will ensure the production of 65 percent of the country’s total needs in the field of supplying potable water by 2030.
