The decision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, related to raising wages and grants, will enter within a few days, after he ordered the government to prepare regulatory texts related to wage increases and retirement and unemployment grants, to implement the decision to increase the month of January, stipulated in the Finance Law 2023.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s decision, which falls within the framework of its 54 commitments, specifically Commitment No. 29 related to raising and supporting the citizen’s purchasing power, by ensuring a decent income for the citizen by reviewing the guaranteed minimum wage and full tax exemption for low incomes, which embodied the beginning of 2022 and touched a segment A wide range of workers, as people who earn wages not exceeding 30,000 dinars per month were exempted from income tax, benefiting 5 million people, including 2.6 million retirees, with tax spending exceeding 84 billion dinars. The government also, according to the Finance Law 2022, reduced the rate The tax on gross income, which affected more than 9 million people, with tax spending exceeding 195 billion dinars annually.

This commitment will be reinforced by a new procedure early next month, represented in reviewing the inferential point that the government allocated in the Finance Law within the framework of amending the inferential network for salaries and wages, amounting to 597 billion dinars without including new taxes in the Finance Law, which enters into force in early January 2023.

The President also ordered the government, seeking to raise the purchasing power of the citizen, who remains the priority and focus of the state’s attention, according to what the President of the Republic confirmed in his speeches, to prepare the implementation texts that will allow raising wages, retirement grants, and unemployment grants to start pouring financial increases starting from next January, after he ordered last August. To initiate a review of unemployment grants and beneficiaries, wages for workers and grants for retirees, in proportion to financial balances, and their inclusion in the Finance Law 2023.
