A phone call between Ahmed Ataf and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Ataf, received a phone call from his brother, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed, in his name and on behalf of all members of the royal family, best regards to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, congratulating Algeria on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, and wishing our country every success in carrying out its next mandate in this central UN body. He also expressed his country’s readiness to share its experience, especially since Algeria will succeed the sister country of the United Arab Emirates in the Security Council, starting next January.

For his part, Minister Ahmed Ataf expressed his appreciation for the support that Algeria’s candidacy received from the sister country of the United Arab Emirates, appreciating the willingness of the Emirati brothers to share their rich experience gained in the Council during the past two years. He also stressed that Algeria will work to be the best successor to the best predecessor in the Security Council through pleading and defending the issues and priorities of the Arab nation.
