The permanent representative of Algeria to the United Nations hands over the court papers to Guterres
In a related context, the permanent representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Ammar Ben Djemaa, handed over the office papers to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
During the ceremony of handing over the Diwan papers at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Mr. Benjemaa spoke with Mr. Guterres, where he discussed with him the relations of cooperation between Algeria and the UN, in addition to regional and international issues.
On this occasion, Mr. Guterres highlighted Algeria’s status and role at the regional and international levels.
For his part, Mr. Ben Jameh affirmed Algeria’s permanent adherence to the ideals and principles of the United Nations Charter, respect for international legitimacy, the values of peace, dialogue and peaceful settlement of disputes.
He also expressed Algeria’s support for the Secretary-General in his efforts aimed, in particular, at maintaining international peace and security and implementing the goals of sustainable development.
