Bilalchia, one of the Algerian students returning from Ukraine because of the war, confirmed that the dilemma of those students who were prevented from continuing their studies normally is to obtain a transit visa from neighboring countries to Ukraine in order to return to their studies, after their case remained pending despite the many promises.

Bilal Shih told Al-Hiwar that the issue of the students who returned from Ukraine a year ago remained unresolved, as only two students out of a total of 76 returnees were reintegrated, while the rest continue distance studies, which are guaranteed by Ukrainian universities in all disciplines and phases despite the war. The spokesman called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take care of them through coordination with the Republic of Moldova and to extend the electronic transit visas previously granted to some Algerian students and whose validity had expired due to some obstacles at the airports, as well as coordination with Poland and Hungary in order to grant transit visas to Algerian students in view of keeping the Ukrainian airports closed. .

Bilashieh praised the decision of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding the reopening of the Algerian embassy in Kiev, but he considered that this decision was insufficient at a time when Algerian students are suffering from their documents being stuck in Ukraine.

The speaker criticized the lack of commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to solve the dilemma of these students, despite promises and talk about an electronic platform, and called for enabling students to obtain second certificates after they lost their certificates during the war in Ukraine, a year ago. He also confirmed their readiness to return to Ukrainian universities and finish their academic path, which requires obtaining transit visas from neighboring countries towards Ukraine, which do not exceed five days.
