The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, called on the executives of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to reconsider the basic law of the chamber in order to modernize it and improve its performance in line with national and international economic trends, to achieve the goals of economic development in the country.

Zitouni also emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce should play a “leading role” in the national economy, and be an “effective” economic institution in serving economic dealers.
It is worth noting that the coordination meeting came on the occasion of a working visit by the Minister to the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he was received by the President of the Chamber, Kamal Hamni, and the Chief of the Cabinet of the Minister in charge of running the Chamber’s affairs, Hussein Zaoui.
The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion stressed that the center should be transformed into a bank of accurate economic information, through the statistics and digital data it holds regarding all commercial establishments active in the national market, according to a ministry statement.
During the visit, the minister called on the center’s executives to enhance the quality of digital services to meet the requirements of users, after listening to a detailed presentation about the center and its tasks, in addition to the services provided to merchants and economic operators.
Zeitouni also confirmed that the National Center for the Commercial Register has made great strides in the field of digitizing its administrative services, which contributed to facilitating all procedures for economic dealers and improving the business environment in the country.
