Alfaf clarifies about the non-registration of green women in the Paris Olympics qualifiers – Al-Hiwar Algeria

The Algerian Football Federation “FAF” issued an official statement regarding the issue of the women’s national team not registering for the preliminary matches of the Olympic Football Championship, Paris 2024.

And the FAF explained in a statement: Through Law No. 1792 of April 11, 2022, FIFA contacted all member associations to register their choices for men and women for the preliminary competition that will be organized by each association in order to determine the participating teams, before Friday, April 29, 2022.

Among the conditions required by FIFA to be able to participate in the preliminary and final competitions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Football Championship, the statement added, players must be born on or after January 1, 2001. However, a maximum of three players who do not meet this age limit may be included in the official list of players for the men’s tournament final competition.

“The players are not subject to any age restrictions to participate in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament,” Al-Faf said.

Also, in the absence of a national team at the time for women’s football, it was not beneficial to register this team.
