Algerian economic organizations seek to establish the rules of cooperation with the countries of the African space, in order to find a decent position for Algerian companies and businessmen in the business map of the brown continent, considering the establishment of branches of Algerian institutions in the African continent, and in order to strengthen inter-economic relations between African countries. From the Algerian Center for Businessmen and the Algerian Confederation of Employers Citizens within this week on several bilateral agreements between the Algerian party and their counterparts in both Benin and Mauritania.

Participants in the second Dakar Summit on the development of enterprises in Africa noted the pivotal role that Algeria plays as a locomotive for achieving development in Africa.

This, and the Director of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Land Transport in Senegal, Mamodou Lisa Camara, confirmed, in a statement to Laoaj, on the sidelines of the work of the second and last day of the summit, that Algeria is considered one of the most important countries in the African continent, “with which we truly believe that it has become necessary today to strengthen cooperation with it on the all levels.”

Mamadou Lisa Camara said that the African continent today is going through a very important stage through development projects that have been developed by member states with regional organizations to achieve the desired development in the region, stressing that the international developments that the world is going through today require further strengthening of cooperation between countries. Africa at the level of West Africa, pointing out that Senegal today is seeking, through its development programs, to create a bridge between the Economic Community of West African States and the Maghreb countries, especially Algeria, and therefore it has become necessary today, according to him, to give a new impetus to Algerian-Senegalese relations through diversification Cooperation and partnership between the two countries within the framework of South-South cooperation, diversifying synergies for infrastructure development, but also strengthening cooperation in the context of capacity building, especially in the field of transport and rail transport.

For her part, Amani Abou Zeid, Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy and Digitization of the African Union, praised the pivotal and essential role that Algeria plays in Africa in general, “not only in infrastructure projects or regional integration projects, but in all issues of concern to the continent.” Pointing out that there is a very great interest of the African Union in infrastructure programs or regional integration, given that they are the backbone of development in the African continent, and the importance of some African countries to play this role is increasing due to their basic history, thus forming the locomotive of development in the African continent. In this context, she mentioned that there are three or four countries that represent the locomotive of the African continent’s economy, “led by Algeria, whose role remains greater than any other country, without the exception of Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa, which are considered among the main countries in Africa.”

According to the Commissioner of the African Union, these projects have increased in importance, especially in the last three years, following the successive crises that the world has been exposed to, whether due to the Covid pandemic or the geopolitical conditions that have imposed themselves strongly in the world.

The way to African markets is through railways

Economist Dr. Omar Haroun says in his interview with Al-Hiwar, “Algeria is facing fierce competition for the African market, which has become coveted by major international companies, and major powers are competing for access to it. The best solution now is for Algeria to provide the capabilities to be Africa’s commercial gateway by providing transport mechanisms.” Goods that will not deviate from the railways and partnership agreements signed with African countries, because relying on the export of Algerian goods only will not be sufficient, especially since Algeria has not achieved sufficiency in many products and the state supports many other products directly or indirectly, and exporting them without study may prejudice significantly in the national market and creates a deficit that we are indispensable for.

Exchange by barter is profitable

Economist Dr. Suleiman Nasser says that the European lesson has taught us that economic cooperation in which there is parity and mutual benefit is with countries that do not miss us much in the levels of economic development, and this is embodied a lot in African countries, and perhaps the idea of ​​exchange through barter is one of the most important practical ideas In dealing with the poorer countries, especially our neighbors, such as: Niger and Mali, especially since they do not cost us a hemorrhage in hard currency reserves, as we can export the dates from which we produce large quantities to these countries in order to import from them fruits that we do not produce like those produced in hot tropical regions. .

This, and economist Suleiman Nasser believes that it is necessary to pay economic attention to the African depth, just like the Arab and Maghreb depth, as Algeria neglected this depth, and at the same time we see great interest in it on the part of major economic powers far from the continent, led by China, through the so-called road Silk, and also that the strategy of Turkey, China and major countries also depends on economic expansion in the continent of Africa, and therefore Algeria is the first to this expansion by virtue of its belonging to this continent.

A $15 billion bet outside of hydrocarbons

Considering that exporting to the depths of Africa has become a necessity imposed by the requirements of the current economic life, given the utmost importance of this space as an important tributary to achieve the so-called economic diversification that Algeria aspires to, which counts on exceeding the amount of 15 billion dollars outside of hydrocarbons, as the regional and continental situation imposes on Algeria.
