Algeria is close to annihilating the non-permanent membership of the Security Council – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Algeria will participate this Tuesday in the elections for non-permanent seats in the Security Council. For being a candidate for a non-permanent member of the Council during the period 2024-2025.

The Director General of Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Soufiane Barah, confirmed in a statement to Algerian television that Algeria is a candidate for this membership. In this sense, Algeria has a lot to offer. Being a responsible international actor working to uphold international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter..”.

He also added that “Algeria is one of the countries that is attested to for its firm positions on all issues and issues listed. on the agenda of the Security Council, foremost of which is the issue of Western Sahara and the Palestinian issue.”

He added, “Algeria also comes to the Security Council with proven weight and experience in the field of combating terrorism. In addition to many international issues and disputes. All these positive aspects make Algeria’s membership in the Security Council a membership that brings added value.
