After the remarkable results he achieved in swimming competitions, related to the ongoing Arab Games in Algeria, Algerian swimmer Jawad Sayoud appeared in a press conference, Thursday, in which he directed strong criticism of the Algerian Swimming Federation, and highlighted his suffering in preparations for international competitions, stressing that there are parties trying to destroy him. Despite the achievements he is achieving and raising the Algerian flag high in the various activities in which he participated.
Algerian swimmer Jawad Sayoud said, after being crowned with three gold medals in the Arab Championships in the 200-meter four races, 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter four relay races, saying: “Praise be to God, I always feel happy to represent Algeria and win medals, carrying the Algerian flag.”
He added: “My participation in this competition came in response to the call of the heart and out of respect for the Algerian people and the audience.”
And about the harassment that Jawad Sayoud is exposed to, he stated: “I am always disturbed and harassed by people affiliated with the Algerian Swimming Federation for no reason. The swimmer also complained about the disastrous management of the federation and that nothing has changed for years. This raises many questions, although the President of the Republic gave instructions to provide all conditions for elite athletes who are coming to the Olympics.”
For his part, Jawad Sayoud’s father complained about the transactions his son is exposed to, saying in his statements: “Jawad is preparing for the world championship on July 14, which is scheduled in Japan, but unfortunately he does not yet have a visa and will be absent in a large proportion. My son is under terrible pressure, as he is required to be in Tokyo on the 11th of this month.”
And Jawad Sayoud’s father added, “Jawad is the only one of the Algerian swimmers who has not received his financial dues yet, and here I can only thank the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who spoke to my son personally and allocated a sum of money for him to prepare.”
It is worth noting that Jawad Sayoud managed, on Thursday, to win the gold medal in the 200-meter medley race, and another in the 100-meter butterfly race, in which he broke the Arab record, which was registered in the name of the Tunisian champion Osama Al-Mallouli.
