Announcing the cost of Hajj soon – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

It is expected that a joint ministerial council will meet within the next few days to decide on the final cost of Hajj for the 1444-2023 season and to control all mechanisms related to the file.

The Hajj preparations file is currently at the level of the first ministry, provided that the joint ministerial council, which includes the first ministry, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Interior and Local Communities, and officials of the National Office for Hajj and Umrah and Air Algerie, which decides on the final cost of Hajj in the light of the agreements concluded Signed by the Algerian preparatory delegation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and related to housing, transportation and subsistence, as well as the price of the air ticket.

It is unlikely that the cost of Hajj 2023 will exceed the cost specified in the last season, as the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmehdi, previously confirmed that Algeria obtained the best prices for Hajj services this year, of which Algeria’s share includes 41 thousand pilgrims, including the winners in the last lottery conducted for 2019 and 2020. And the cost of the Hajj season 1443/2022 amounted to 856,100.00 DZD, before the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, decided to subsidize the travel ticket for pilgrims to the Holy Bekaa by reducing its price by 100,000 dinars.

The Saudi authorities have resorted to reducing insurance for pilgrims by 73 percent, that is, from 109 riyals to 29 riyals, which relatively reduces the cost of Hajj, as the preparatory procedures for Hajj this season are accelerating in Algeria, as two months separate us from the beginning of the departure of the first groups of pilgrims. And it is expected that the beginning of next June will be, given that the Hajj rituals begin on the eighth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is expected to fall on June 25, and end on the fourth day of Eid al-Adha, which is the day of al-Tashreeq.
