Arresting 83 drug dealers and thwarting the entry of 6 quintals of kaif to Algeria – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

The army detachments, in cooperation with the various security services, were able to arrest 83 drug dealers and thwart attempts to bring in 6.42 quintals of processed kif across the border with Morocco.

According to the outcome of the Ministry of National Defense, in the context of the continuous efforts made in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from May 17 to May 23, 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the extent of their high professionalism and vigilance. And the permanent readiness of our armed forces throughout the national territory.

In this regard, detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (12) elements supporting terrorist groups during separate operations.

As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped during operations across the military regions, (83) drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring in (06) quintals and (42) ) a kilogram of treated kif across the border with Morocco, while (236,631) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.

In Tamanrasset, En Gezam and Djanet, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (1028) people and seized (20) vehicles, (164) generators, (176) hammers and (04) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of explosives and detonation equipment. And other equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations, while (19) other people were arrested and (02) Kalashnikov machine guns and (07) hunting rifles were seized, in addition to (11) quintals of tobacco and (4362) units. of various beverages, and this through sporadic operations across the national territory.

In the same context, border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs, thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel estimated at (68,268) liters in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras and El Tarf, while (723) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory. .
