Ballara complex, the first shipments of iron ore – Al-Hiwar Algeria

The boat of the Algerian-Qatar Iron and Steel Company in Bellara, Milia, Jijel Province, received the first shipments of raw iron via train from the port of Djen Djen at a rate of 3 thousand tons per day.

Orioh Hosni, head of the raw materials handling department at the iron and steel complex in Bellara, said in a statement that “the inclusion of the railway line in transporting the raw material of iron from the port of Jinn to the boat would allow the ship to receive this material and operate the various units comfortably.”

And the same spokesman added that thanks to relying on the train to transport the raw materials imported from abroad, it will reduce dependence on trucks, which gives a smooth flow of traffic, whether inside the boat or through National Road No. 43.

And the same source stated that the volume of raw materials transported from the port via this new railway line “will gradually double until it reaches 12,000 tons per day to meet the boat’s demand estimated at 10,500 tons per day.”
