Boghali reaffirms Algeria’s firm position on the Palestinian issue – the Algerian Dialogue

The President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boghali, received the President of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Ahmed Fattouh, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place in the presence of the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria, today, Wednesday.
The two sides praised the quality of solid and strong relations between the two brotherly countries, and stressed the need to work to find more mechanisms and ways to upgrade them to the highest levels, according to a statement by the National People’s Assembly.

In his welcoming speech, Boghali renewed the reminder of Algeria’s steadfast, unconditional and historical position towards the Palestinian cause, and its keenness to support the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle, one of which was embodied in the signing of the Palestinian factions on the historic “Algeria Declaration” of Palestinian reunification and reconciliation.

By the way, the President of the Council appreciated the United Nations commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba. He also praised the outcomes of the 32nd Arab Summit, which culminated in the “Jeddah Declaration”, which urged the continuation of the implementation of the “Algeria Declaration” roadmap, which confirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause, as well as the return of Syria to the Arab League. In this regard, Boghali reiterated Algeria’s keenness to support everything that would enhance joint Arab action, respect for the sovereignty of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs.

In the same context, the President of the Council continued, stressing Algeria’s readiness to harness all its efforts to mobilize the necessary support for the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations.

For his part, Fattouh expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Algeria, the people and the government, to the State of Palestine. He also saluted the keenness of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to sponsor the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, describing it as successful on all levels. He also expressed his hope to complete the implementation of the Palestinian reunion document.

In the same context, Fattouh added, thanking the efforts of the National People’s Assembly deputies who do not miss the opportunity to defend the Palestinian cause in all forums, whether regional or international.

The meeting took place in the presence of Munther Boudin, Vice-President of the National People’s Assembly, and Mr. Hamza Hamlawi, President of the Friendship Group “Algeria-Palestine”.
