Boumerdes… The National Gendarmerie overthrows a criminal group that organizes trips for illegal immigration across the sea – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Within the framework of combating crime of all kinds, the members of the regional brigade of the National Gendarmerie in Boudouaou-Bahari managed to overthrow a criminal group that organizes illegal immigration trips across the sea.
The facts of the case refer to reports submitted by citizens about losing contact with people from their families who were on a boat for illegal immigration across the sea.
Immediately, the inquiry element was activated by the members of the squad, where it was found that the matter was related to 22 people who went out on June 11, 2023 on one boat from the coast of the municipality of Budwau Maritime at two o’clock in the morning, including a minor child.
An investigation was opened to find out the course of the case, where five (05) people involved in the process of organizing illegal immigration were arrested, who confessed to the crime attributed to them, while 20 people remain missing at sea, and two people, 02, survived.
Those arrested will be brought before the competent judicial authorities on charges of a felony of planning, organizing and smuggling illegal immigrants, a misdemeanor of not reporting the crime of illegal immigration, and a misdemeanor of endangering the life and safety of smuggled immigrants.
